During the month of October, division one students have continued to review basic rhythms and melodies, sing new songs and learn new singing games. They were introduced to rhythm sticks and hand drums and have played with much enthusiasm! Much of our time has been spent on learning the songs and actions for the winter musical, FLAKES! The musical will premiere on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the gym. Entry fee is one food bank item. Grade 1 and 2 parents, please look for an information email, coming soon!

Division two students began learning mallet technique and accompaniments on the xylophones. Our Grade 5 students accompanied the whole school during the hallway singing of “Los Monstrous”, our Halloween song.

Moving forward, the division two choir will be singing a beautiful song of peace at the Remembrance Day assembly on Nov. 8, and all students will continue to learn new rhythms and melodies in their music classes. The Grade 5 hand bell group has begun preparation for its contribution to the Christmas choir concert on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019 at 2 PM and 7 PM in the gym.
