En matemáticas: Number sense: 

* Number sequence 0 to 100 by:

  • Skip counting (By 2s, by 5s, by 10s up to 100) 
  • Counting backwards from any given number 
  • Grouping objects (ones and tens)
  • Sorting
  • Addition strategies up to 9+9
  • Ones and tens

*Subitize (recognizing numbers/ arrangements of dots at a glance)  

* Patterns (recognizing, extending, creating)  

En ciencias: Seasonal changes and Senses:

  • Our planet Earth  
  • Changes in weathe
  • Animal adaptations to seasonal changes (Hibernation, migration)
  • Making scientific observations (Experiments)

Educación Fisica: 

  • Personal space, following instructions and game rules 
  • Locomotor skills: jumping, skipping, jogging, walking, etc. 
  • Use a hockey stick·
  • Cooperation skills and partner skills (i.e. sharing, taking turns, playing in small teams)

ELA - English Language Arts:  

  • Letter recognition and printing 
  • Letter sound correspondence: Initial and end letter sounds / Blending sounds
  • Sight words: Who, where, what, when, with (Review the previous words)
  • Word families: at, et , ig 
  • Reading strategies: beginning letter sounds, stretching the word out, and using picture power and finger pointing as we read 
  • Shared and independent writing 
  • Reading to self and Reading to others 

En español: 

  • Vocabulary related to our classroom, body parts, family 
  • Math vocabulary 
  • Asking and answering questions related to calendar, colours, weather etc.  
  • Singing songs and chanting 
  • Repeat sentences to express interests and needs around the classroom
  • Word vs. sentence 

En Estudios Sociales: 

  • Appreciate the roles other people play in building and helping a community 
  • Understand what makes a community (Home, school)
  • Symbols and family traditions
  • Appreciate multiple perspectives, and cultural differences  - Global connections
  • Compromise and make decisions as part of a group (team) 

En Arte: 

  • Recognizing and creating primary and secondary colours 
  • Understanding the difference between transparent and opaque things
  • Understanding how white and black affect colours 
  • Recognizing natural colours in the environment
