Central Memorial High School

  1. At this time, there will be NO live or virtual Open House, PVA Open House or Try a Trade this year.
  2. On November 25th, videos will be posted on our school’s website. The videos will show the various spaces and programs CMHS has to offer. A contact list will also be provided if families have any questions.
  3. Please respond to this email and provide us with the number of students in your school that are currently designated to CMHS for the 2022-23 school year.

 Please see below for information regarding open house times. We will be in touch with these schools to set up a time for students to speak with counselors from their designated school and complete registration forms.

Henry Wise Wood 

IB Information Night #2
The International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) is an academic program of choice
offered to ALL students. If students are passionate about at least two school subjects
in junior high, they can register in the IB program and be provided with the
opportunity to delve into the school subjects of interest more deeply in Grade 10, 11
and 12.

At Henry Wise Wood High School, IB courses are available in all Core Subjects -
English, Social Studies, Math and Science as well as complementary areas of
Philosophy, Art, Film Studies, French and Spanish.
Through the High School Engagement process, beginning in the Fall of 2022, the CBE
has implemented some boundary changes in an effort to balance enrolments at all
CBE high schools. In addition to our previously designated cachement area, Henry
Wise Wood High School is now the designated school for the following communities:

Regular Program in the communities of Bel-Aire, Manchester, Mayfair,
Meadowlark Park, Ogden, Riverbend, Windsor Park and
Woodlands/Woodbine

IB Programme- living in Areas 5 & 6 as well as the communities of Bel-Aire,
Manchester, Mayfair, Meadowlark Park, Ogden, Riverbend and Windsor
Park
In Area- Students designated by address to Henry Wise Wood for regular program are
eligible to submit IB expression of interest documents.
Out of Area- Students not designated by address to Henry Wise Wood are eligible to
apply to transfer to Henry Wise Wood for the IB Program providing:
1. Interested families live one of the Henry Wise Wood IB designated
communities listed here.
2. Grade 9 students are passionate about becoming an IB student.
3. Students select two IB courses (minimum) in the IB program. This is a
minimum two-year commitment for students applying from out of area.
4. Interested IB learners are currently successful in their Grade 9 courses in
which they want to pursue IB – 3’s and 4’s.
5. Parents complete the:
a. IB registration paperwork before the March 15, 2022 deadline.
b. Online Transfer Form before the March 15, 2022 deadline and submit
the required paperwork listed on the HWW website.

Your Junior High/ Middle School can help you navigate these newly designated
boundaries or just send us a note!

We would like to invite you to our online IB Information Night #2 in order to find out
the necessary information so your family can make an informed decision for Grade
10. At this meeting we will discuss the IB Programme and the application process.
