At-home learning for the week of January 4-8. 
Prior to the winter break, parents received email communication from teachers to outline the teaching and learning plan. Many families will draw on the experience of at-home learning from last school year. As you support your child for this week of learning consider the following:
Fully review the information provided by your child's teacher. In addition to providing daily learning routines teachers will also share passwords and log in details required to access the online platform. We encourage you to practice logging in with your child and to familiarize yourself with the tools. 
Teaching & learning activities will be scheduled accordingly:
Monday to Thursday between 9:05am – 3:44pm. Lunch break will occur from 12:00pm – 1:00pm for all staff and students.
Friday between 9:05am – 1:30pm. Lunch Break will occur from 12:00-12:45pm on Fridays.
Beginning January 4th, parents can connect with teachers directly by email or phone the school office at 403-777-6600 for all inquiries. We expect the first day of online learning to have a few bumps and hiccups.  The Alex Munro School Office will open on Monday, January 4, 8:30am. Please know we will do our best to respond to all inquiries in a timely way.
At-home learning will be a combination of google meet live on-line sessions, recorded lessons, and follow-up activities to be completed by the student with some support required. Please check your child's backpack on Friday for materials that may be required for learning.
Currently, we expect students to return to the schoolhouse on January 11, 2021. Additional information will be provided closer to the date.
Alex Munro staff appreciate the challenges facing families with the transition to at-home learning. We respect that student participation in at-home learning will require significant parental support depending on the age, readiness, and independence of the learner . Please be assured that Alex Munro teachers understand the pressures associated with balancing multiple student learning schedules and coordinating access to technology combined with a myriad other day-to-day responsibilities. We acknowledge that parents may need flexibility to make this work successfully in each situation. In all cases, we respectfully request that you communicate with your child's teacher to provide relevant and timely updates if your child is not able to participate or attend.​
