Dear families,

This week at AFS I had the opportunity to spend many hours in classrooms with our division 2 students. As part of our SDP (School Development Plan) we have committed to participating in the OurSchool Survey in the fall and spring of this school year. The survey takes upwards of an hour to present and complete in each classroom. What a joy to be able to share time in each of the classrooms and get to know your children just a little bit better.

Sometime soon the results will be shared with us, and then with you at a school council meeting. This week, on Tuesday evening at our school council meeting, we will share information about our goals for this year. For the 2021-2022 school year all CBE schools will have 3 SDP goals; literacy, math, and well-being. If you'd like to know what we are focusing on, the data we used to decide what to focus on, and what we plan to do to improve, please stop in on Tuesday night to learn more.

If you'd like to see the SDP from last year, it's on the website! Look under About Us, Our School.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night, welcoming your children on Monday, and seeing the costumes and excitement on Friday.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Your AFS administrative team,
Helen Sharpe and Tianna Melnyk
