Dear AFS families,

It has been a week of Remembrance. Your children shared thoughtful presentations on Wednesday that reflected their understanding of what Remembrance Day means to each of them. One example, from room 6, has been shared on the main page of the website. Enjoy.
All Poppy proceeds go to our National Veterans while all pin proceeds ($275!!!) go to our neighbourhood veterans. Did you know we have a branch right here in our neighbourhood? Branch 289 Royal Canadian Legion Alberta NWT Command – 2828 28 St SW (Part of the Killarney Glengarry Community Centre). Thank you.

Our school casino is next week. Thank you to all who have already signed up to volunteer. There is 1 spot available, back up on the Tuesday, to whomever is available. We would really like it filled by end of day Friday, if you're available please sign up.

Providing a safe, caring, welcoming and respectful school environment continues to be a priority, everyday. We appreciate your emails and communication when you hear something from your child that might not quite sound right. Clarifying is helpful, while understanding that a child's perspective is only one point of view. Thank you for being an intrigual part of the education process.

As part of our continued focus on safety we will have our third fire drill practice next week. Students will be informed of the event so they can prepare and once again clear the building quickly and effeciently.

Have a safe weekend.
Your AFS Leadership team,
Helen Sharpe and Tianna Melnyk
