Cars and School Patrols
Our patrollers are on duty at the crosswalk in front of the school from 8:20 - 8:35 AM and 3:24 to 3:38 PM. Please bring your child to school on time, as the patrols will not be on duty at the crosswalk after 8:35 AM.
Our patrols are dedicated and take their responsibility for providing a safe crossing very seriously. Parents, please do your part to ensure student safety by respecting traffic regulations and by parking well away from the crosswalk so patrollers have a clear view of the road. When parking, please respect the traffic signs, as there are many restricted parking areas around our school. Please do not park or drop off your children in the staff parking lot, as it is not a safe area. Please remember to slow down through the school zone and avoid parking within 5 meters of the crosswalk. Safety is first; convenience is second.
During extreme cold temperatures or thunder showers our patrollers will not patrol the crosswalk.
Parking
Thank you to all parents who walk their children to school! There is very limited parking around our school. Please consider the safety of your children and all of our students when parking your vehicle. When you park too close to a stop sign, crosswalk or intersection it makes it difficult for your children to see oncoming vehicles thus endangering their safety. Remember, the staff parking lot is not to be used for pick-up and drop-off of students. Residential permit parking is in place on several streets around the school. Please pay close attention to the posted signs.
Supervision and Playground Safety
Students are welcome to be on the playground no earlier than 15 minutes before school in the morning and 15 minutes before school in the afternoon (12:35 PM) during which time students are supervised by staff.
Appropriate behaviour and language are expected at all times on school property. Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and roller blades are not allowed on the playground.
Parents/caregivers should directly supervise their children on the playground after school. Otherwise, students must go directly home or to a caregiver's home following school dismissal. Students should not re-enter the building to use the phone or washroom, as school personnel are not available for supervision.
Before and After School and Lunch Care staff are responsible only for those students who are formally registered in the program.
