Dress Code

At Altadore School, we respect each individual’s desire to feel comfortable and fashionable in their clothes while learning. As students are involved in a variety of activities throughout the day, they need to be dressed in comfortable clothing that allows for physical movement while ensuring safety. We would ask that parents check what their children are wearing before they go to school to ensure that they are dressed appropriately. Students are required to dress appropriately for the weather.

Students are required to have a second pair of “indoor shoes” to wear at school. These shoes should be appropriate to wear to the gym for physical education classes.

Indoor Shoes and Fire Drills

We are proud of our school and would like to maintain an optimal indoor environment for students. As a result, we require that students have shoes or boots for outdoor wear, as well as non-marking shoes which are appropriate for physical activity and indoor wear only. These shoes must remain at the school and must securely fasten to the foot with velcro or laces.

Slip-ons, flats, sandals, Kroc's, etc. are not acceptable Physical Education footwear and pose a safety risk to your student and others. All students must have their indoor shoes on their feet at all times while inside. This is a safety requirement when there are fire drills, reduces dust and dirt in the school, and assists us in keeping our school clean.
