Dear Altadore Families,
We had a very busy week, despite it only being four days! Our Grade 6 students wrote their first Provincial Achievement Test for English Language Arts, and they did a wonderful job navigating this new experience. Our students were very
well-prepared for the exam and they embraced the challenge with positive attitudes and serious focus.
We had our “C of Red” day for Game 1 of Round 2, but there was also a lot of blue and orange in every classroom! We have many Oilers fans in the school, and although there has been some banter between fans of both teams, the students have been respectful of one another. The energy in the school was palpable on Wednesday! We love seeing team pride like this!
On Friday, our staff engaged in various professional learning opportunities, from attending a workshop on the Science of Reading, to exploring the new curriculum in grade teams. Our staff is also working hard right now figuring out school organization for next year. We hope to share many of our plans for the 2022-23 school year with parents at the next School Council meeting. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have anything you would like to discuss.
