Monday Message - May 1

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Last week we had over 80 student participants complete the Mount Royal Mathematics Contest. We are proud of the students for their perseverance and willingness to challenge their problem-solving skills. Thank you to the Div Two teachers and Mr. Newman for supporting this opportunity for our students. We are also proud of the students in their perseverance around their robotics learning that students are engaging in during their 'Maker Time.'

We celebrated Earth Day at Sibbald last week and look forward to the opportunities to engage in more land-based learning throughout the Spring. The Grade 1 classes are off to the Leighton Center on Tuesday this week, and will enjoy a day of learning together at this site.

Big Brave!

Our 19th Annual Big Brave event, in support of Kids Cancer Care, will take place on Friday, May 26th in the main gym.  Students will attend an assembly on Monday, May 1st to kick off the event.  On Tuesday, May 2nd students that are interested in participating in the Big Brave will bring home an expression of interest letter for parents/guardians to sign.  Thank you for your continued support of this amazing event.  You can follow our progress or contribute to our students here

Student Fundraising Efforts Continue for an Outdoor Gaga Ball Pit!

Thank you to all who purchased tickets for the 'Candy Jar Guess' fundraiser last week. The winner will be announced this week.

The students have raised $792.00 and are so close to their goal of $1000.00! Please see the message from Grade Sixes: “We will be selling lollipops on Tuesday and Wednesday this week as our next fundraiser for our outdoor Gaga Ball Pit. They will be $2.00 each and will be sold by the office. Thank you for your support!"
