At Arbour Lake School:
- Grade 5 and 6 students eat lunch in their classroom and are supervised by our lunch personnel.
- Grade 7, 8 and 9 students eat in the foyer at the tables provided. These grades are allowed to leave the school grounds at lunchtime and are expected to return by the time the entry bell rings in the afternoon.
- The school has a small canteen where students can purchase soup, juice, granola bars and other small items.
Lunch Supervision
The Calgary Board of Education provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. More information is on our Lunch Supervision page.
Students are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly in the lunchroom and ensure that their garbage and recycling is removed.
Students leaving the grounds are expected to be good citizens in the community. Students failing to meet this expectation will have these privileges revoked. All students are expected to be outside after 25 minutes or be involved in a supervised activity within the school.
Arbour Lake School follows the CBE protocols during cold weather days. When the temperatures drop below -20 (or feel like -20), indoor lunch protocol occurs and students are provided opportunities to be engaged and busy indoors.
