CTF Grade 6

Career and Technology Foundations (CTF)

Please note these are year-long courses

All Grade 6 students will go through a rotation of various complementary course options that may include Applied Technology/Construction, Drama, Art, Natural Resources, Leadership and others. However, if you choose to have your child enrolled in Band 6 or French, this will limit their time in the other offerings. If you sign up for both Band and French, no other options will be available for your child.

Instrumental Music (Band) 6 - Students will play either a woodwind or brass instrument throughout the year while exploring and improving skills and knowledge related to theoretical, historical, and technical aspects of music. Grade 6 students will have an opportunity to attend an overnight Band Camp with Valley Creek School in October.

French 6 - Students learn to understand and respond to oral and written language in French. Each class, students will learn and practice skills associated with speaking and writing in French, including understanding the grammar, pronunciation, and culture associated with the language. Major areas of focus in Grade 6 include vocabulary associated with My Health & Well-Being, My Neighbourhood, Alberta-My Province, the Environment, and Holidays/Celebrations.
