Dear Hawks Parents/Guardians
We hope this message finds you and your family staying healthy. Our school remains vigilant with our COVID19 Safety Protocols. It’s great to see so much cooperation for these protocols - every little measure helps us all stay a little safer. While we have masks, sanitizers and other rules, what remains the same is the importance of relationship, belonging, and learning. We have a number of updates for you today.
Keeping us all safe
Our students are really good at remembering to wear their masks, but I’ve noticed that some of our parents who pick up and drop off our students could work on remembering their masks. As variants with a higher rate of transmission have become the dominant strain, I would ask parents to please wear a mask when you pick up and drop off your children.
Other ways you can help keep us all safe at school are:
- observing the 30km/hr limit in our school zone (please watch your speed as you drive down the hill on Sienna Park Drive)
- no U-turns
- no Jay walking between cars/busses (please use the cross walk)
- no parking in the bus zone or in front of driveways across the street
- keeping your child home if they are symptomatic or sick
- notifying us if your child is positive or a close contact
Thank you. Every little bit makes us all a little safer
Art Cards by Kids
By now you should have received some amazing art work from your child(ren) as card samples! We are so excited to have been able to bring this fundraising opportunity to the school, giving the kids the opportunity to showcase their talents, teachers the opportunity to incorporate the project into their classwork, and families the opportunity to purchase some treasured memories.
Please refer to the ordering instructions found inside the sample cards that were sent home. The deadline for ordering is Wednesday, April 14.
Thank-you for your support of this wonderful program!
(Note from the editor, many thanks to Wendy Karl and Nichola Smith for the many fund raiser activities this year, including bottle drives, Cobb’s Bakery program, Davidson Apple drive, and Art Cards by Kids. The money we raise from these fund-raisers is going to the construction of two outdoor Gaga ball pits!).

School Plans for Next Year
This week we will be sending you a quick form to fill out on your phone or computer to indicate what school plans you have for your child for next year.
* Note - Hub on-line learning is discontinued next year. If you would like on-line learning next year, you must enrol your child in CBe-learn. The deadline by which to enrol for CBe-learn is this Friday, April 23. Access this link to find out more information.
Surveys coming to parents
There are a few surveys coming to parents. The Alberta Education Assurance Survey was mailed to parents recently. We encourage grade 4 parents to complete this survey to let us know how you think we are meeting your students' learning needs.
Very soon, our school will be sending a Budget and Fees survey to parents. This survey intends to inform you about our budget and fees and solicit your opinions of how we assign fees and allocate budget for next school year. We hope to see a high rate of return for this survey as well.
Stay safe everyone and, as always, thanks for your support.
Kind Regards
Jeff Campbell
Proud Principal of the Hawks
