Principal's Weekly Update | September 9, 2022

Good Afternoon Beddington Heights Families:

I hope this message finds you all doing well. We have come to the end of our first full(-ish) week of learning, and, so far, things are moving along and students and staff seem to be settling into their new routines. I have a few items to which I would like to draw your attention:

Terry Fox Run: Next Friday we will be hosting our annual Terry Fox Run. For many of us, Terry's story is well known. If, however, you would like more information on Terry's story, you can visit the Terry Fox Foundation website here. To date, the Terry Fox Foundation has raised over 850 million dollars for cancer research. As a school, we will be hosting a brief assembly at 10:45am on Friday before proceeding to the field to participate in a school wide Terry Fox Run. More information can be found in your weekly update from your child's homeroom teacher.

Meet the Teacher Night: Meet the teacher night will take place on September 22nd from 6-7:30pm. Homeroom teachers will have two different presentation times so you will be able to catch both should you have multiple children in the school.

Forms: Please see important information below related to school forms that need to be completed.

I wish each of you a great weekend, and, if I can be of service, please do not hesitate to contact me at

Take care,

Steve Ross

Principal, Beddington Heights School

RT @ZooSchoolyyc: How do we teach the value and importance of our connection to all living things? Maybe by getting to know our local neighbours? This is a concept our Chris Akkermann students are just beginning to understand. Have you spotted this local winter bird?

@CBELanguages #WeAreCBE

RT @KeelerSchool: Grade 6 students created pictograph rocks using symbols and colours to communicate their connections to the land. #WeAreCBE #Keeler

Check out this story about the @twowheelview 10-week Earn-A-Bike program at Crescent Heights High School. Students receive a refurbished bicycle, helmet and basic tools to maintain their new ride. #WeAreCBE
