Principal's Weekly Update | September 29, 2022

Hello Beddington Heights Families,

It has been a productive week here at BHS as we recognized Truth and Reconciliation Week in a variety of ways including an Indigenous Dance Residency with Elder Shirley Hill, our Grade 3/4's did some land-based learning at Confluence Park as well as a variety of other activities that took place in classrooms around the school. Check out our social media for some photos of the learning that took place.

I have a few additional items to highlight:

School Council

We will be hosting our first School Council meeting virtually via Microsoft Teams on this coming Tuesday, October 4th from 6:30-8:30 pm. Click here to join the meeting

Literacy Week: October 3-6, 2022

Next week, Beddington Heights School will be celebrating Literacy through a variety of activities. Please check out our social media to see all that is happening!

International Walk to School Week: October 2-8, 2022

Did you know that Canada held its first national Walk a Child to School Day in 1998 with participants from five provinces? Today, schools from all thirteen provinces and territories join millions of students worldwide as they walk to school during the first week of October.  This year, International Walk to School week is October 2-8, 2022. International Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 5, 2022. BHS encourages you and your children to find creative ways to get active and walk to school!

I wish each of you a great long weekend, and as always, if I can be of service, please do not hesitate to contact me at

Take care,

Steve Ross
