The school year is coming to an end. As we reflect on the past year, we can cherish the many learning opportunities and celebrations we have experienced as a community. Our enrichment programming has enhanced these experiences. We must congratulate the entire school community for their continued commitment to excellence, character, and personal growth. Thank you to our parents for their continued support and dedication to their children and the Bishop Pinkham staff. A special thank you to School Council and the Bishop Pinkham Music Parent Association for helping us nurture student learning through fundraising and volunteering.
This year we say farewell to some outstanding staff. People in our community that were instrumental in the implementation and development of the Bishop Pinkham’s excellent programming. Thank you to Ms Wendy, Ms Laura, Ms Carrie-Lee, Ms Donna, Ms Hutchinson, Ms Jennifer LeBlanc, Ms Craig, Ms Cariolato, Mme Brennan, Mme Amal, Mme Turner, Mr. Beila, Sr Toran, and Sr Menjivar. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us, for your outstanding work, and for your wise partnership in our learning journey. We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to walk alongside such beautiful people. A fond farewell and best wishes in your next adventures. We will miss you all! Our lives were made more vibrant because of your time working with us!
We are excited to welcome Ms Ottosen to a new role as team leader in our CSSI program. Ms Ottosen makes this move with a great deal of experience and above all a great deal of heart. We are also very happy to be welcoming two wonderful FYTT teachers next year that are already apart of our community; Sr. Toran and Sra Beyona. We hope to hire another team member over the summer and will share that information with you when we have more information.
The upcoming school year we are excited to be introducing a new student services team. The team will include Ms Holland, Mme Renee Leblanc, Ms Belton and two new Educational Assistants yet to be named. This program will further enhance personalised learning for our students through the use of cutting-edge executive functioning strategies, a mindfulness framework, and a homeroom student advisory strategy. Our plan includes building on the momentum of the Zen room project. Thanks go out to all parents, students, and staff who helped in the creation of the Zen room this year.
This year we say goodbye to our Grade 9 students. Thank you to the International Spanish Academies for organizing our Spanish Grade 9 send-off, to the Grade 9 team for the Grade 9 Farewell activities, and Mme Crisp and her team for the last day awards ceremony and Pep Rally. We want to wish our Grade 9s the very best as they embark on their next learning journey in high school!
The office will reopen on at noon on August 29th. Teachers will return on August 27th for the first three days of meeting and organisational times in preparation for the school year. Grade 7 Student Orientation is on Tuesday, September 4th from 8am-2:30. New students will be greeted with an Assembly in the Gym and then will head off to their classes. We will welcome the rest of our students on Wednesday, September 5th at 8 am. Please view our website or the CBE website to get further information over the summer months.
On behalf of the staff at Bishop Pinkham, we wish you a safe, peaceful, and enjoyable summer with family and friends.
