Principal's Message

June 1, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,
It is with a great mix of emotions that I write to inform you that I have accepted the position of Principal at Branton School.
I feel so lucky that I have been given this wonderful experience to be Principal at Bishop Pinkham School.  Watching our students grow as learners and develop their independence has been a true pleasure and has inspired me both professionally and personally, as a father.  This year has been especially significant, as I have been so fortunate to experience the meaningful contributions that our students have made to our school community.  The principal position at Branton School is a unique opportunity that arose unexpectedly and it is because of this that I have made the decision to take advantage of this new leadership opportunity.
A strong Assistant Principal, four strong learning leaders, as well as the staff, currently support me in our work towards a shared vision of what Bishop Pinkham is, and will continue to be in the future.  This work is well established and will continue under the leadership of the next Principal.
I have found my time working with you and your children to be very rewarding and I feel so fortunate to have worked with such wonderful staff that supports our students' learning unconditionally.  I am grateful for the care and teamwork that I have found in our parent community, and am certain that this same level of support will be extended to the next Principal.
The Calgary Board of Education welcomes input from parents, staff and students. The interview process will involve other Directors and conclude with a recommendation made to our Chief Superintendent, Chris Usih, regarding the selection.
In order to gather your input for the new principal at Bishop Pinkham School, Area 7 Education Director, David Dyck, would be pleased to receive feedback from the parents, staff and students of Bishop Pinkham school regarding the leadership attributes and programming you value. The survey results will be shared directly with the successful candidate to inform their entry plan as they transition into the school.  This online survey will also be available on the Bishop Pinkham school website until Tuesday, June 8 .
Our school leadership is strong and ready; this will be a very good time for the school to undergo this change in Principal leadership.
Thank you again for your support over these past six years.
