The Fundraising Society is a registered not-for-profit organization that raises funds through Casinos under the authority of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission. These funds are provided to Braeside School for a variety of educational materials and activities as approved by the Society and AGLC.
The Fundraising Society meets 3 to 4 times a year to plan upcoming Casinos, and review and approve spending of Casino Funds.
Additional funding is often provided by various Parent Society activities to supplement the cost of some of the learning experiences for students at our school. During the 2015-16 school year, because of the support of our Parent Society, Braeside School was able to provide multiple learning experiences that included all of the off-campus activities for grades K-6, as well as multiple artist in residency programs.
Did You Know?
Our last casino raised over $60,000. These funds are used to pay for School residencies such as Quest Theater, That Artist Woman, Circus Lady and more. We are also one of the only schools to use these funds for field trips.
