Our school's big idea this year is "How Can You Use Your Voice to Change the World?" and this theme is being woven into the tasks that teachers create for their students. Our Remembrance Day assembly was filled with eamples including the poignant songs that Mrs. Fatica chose for the choir to sing. Grade 6 students shared letters they wrote to Canadians who are in the service, and Sergeant Michael Malroney spoke about the importance of Remembrance Day. Other examples include the Grade 6 students using the money that they earned selling pizza at the dance for their social action initiatives. And, the grade 2 and 3 classes just shared with their famillies their Celebration of Learning that explored the quality of life in the Bridlewood community.
Bridlewood School will once again be collecting non-perishable food items for the annual Mayor's Food Drive. Donation boxes will be availabe at the front of the school beginnin Monday, November 25 until Monday, December 16. Donations can be sent to school with students or droopped off during conferences. Last year's food drive at Bridlewood School collected 320 lbs of food, filling 4 boxes! This year the Food Bank's wish list includes: pasta sauce, baby food (stage 3) peanut butter, pasta, rice, cereal, canned tuna, chicken, beans, fruit, and gluten -free mixes.
Sincerely,
Erin and Joanne
