Students are expected to "pack in and pack out" all lunch and snack foods and packaging. We encourage litterless lunches that reduce environmental impact. Snacks and lunches should be easy for children to manage. Hot water and microwaves are not accessible for students. Students are not to share food with others or bring food for celebrations.
The Calgary Board of Education provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. If you would like to sign-up for lunch supervision, please review our Lunch Supervision page.

Buffalo Rubbing Stone School is an “Allergy Aware” school. Please let us know if your child has food allergies and requires support. We have students in our school who have severe food allergies. Please do not send lunches or snacks containing peanuts, nuts or nut by-products. To learn more about allergies and other health concerns please see our Illness and Medical page.
Our parent association usually offers snacks and fun lunches through Healthy Hunger, a secure website where parents can order meals online for their child. Our fun lunches gives our students an opportunity to eat lunch, socialize with their friends at school and take part in special activities. During the pandemic, this opportunity is not available to families.
To order, go to www.healthyhunger.ca and register. After your account is created, you will be able to view all upcoming Fun Lunches, place orders and pay for them online with Visa, MasterCard or Interac Debit.
