The safety and security of the students and staff of Cambrian Heights School is of primary importance. To that end, we work to establish appropriate safety measures for the various situations that may occur and affect our students and staff.
All outside and classroom doors are locked during school hours. Parents requiring entrance to the school during school hours must enter by the secured front door. All students enter through their assigned doors only at bell times. All students who are late must enter through the secured front doors and sign in at the office for a late slip.
All visitors must sign in, receive an identification tag, and have permission from the office to be in the school. In order to ensure the safety and security of all students, no one other than approved school volunteers are allowed to go to classrooms. Anyone without proper identification will be asked to go to the office or leave the school. All volunteers must have a valid current police clearance completed by the school.
Teachers provide playground supervision 15 minutes before school starts 7:45-8:00 AM, at recess and 15 minutes prior to afternoon classes 12:15-12:27 PM. Students who go home for lunch should not return to school until after 12:15 PM, as there is no prior supervision for non-lunchroom program students.
Also, there is no supervision provided by the school after the dismissal bell at 2:30 PM. Children should go home after school before returning to the school playground. With no supervision after school, it is important that parents are pick up their child(ren) promptly.
