One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

See our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/groups/CambrianHeightsSchoolCouncil/

Cambrian Heights has a very supportive and active School Council. All Cambrian Heights parents/guardians are welcome to attend council meetings. Please check this page regularly for updates.

School Council exists to support and advise the staff of Cambrian Heights. Council consists of parents, our principal, staff members, and ideally one community member. We discuss and provide advice on topics such as academic programs, school policies, budgets, safety, busing, technology, and after-school activities like our Running Club. We also host various events throughout the year.

We hope to see you at our meetings!

How To Keep Yourself Informed

School Council does all sorts of things to make the learning environment at Cambrian Heights a positive one. We always have issues to discuss and we do our best to keep parents in the loop through our monthly reports on this website. Council also posts information and discussion topics on our two bulletin boards, one outside near the playground and one inside the front door of the school.

Let us Know What You Think

We would be delighted for you to join in School Council and Parent Association discussions. Time is short and scheduling conflicts abound, so we have come up with a few ideas on how you might get involved.
