Traffic Safety

Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.

Parking & Drop-Off

For student safety and the overall reduction of congestion, the staff parking lot is not to be used for dropping off or picking up students. The bus drive is only for buses and handicap marked vehicles. Parents should park on the street to drop-off/pick-up children.

All visitors to the school must park on the street. Parents/Guardians wishing to pick up children prior to regular dismissal times must check in at the office, inform office staff and sign the child out indicating the date, time and reason for pickup. Children are not to leave the school grounds during the day unless signed out at the office first. See more on our Security page.

School Patrols

Cambrian Heights School is part of the Calgary School Safety Patrol Program and has won recognition consistently for its standard of excellence. Our Patrollers (Grade 5 & 6 students) are responsible for all student crossings at the intersection of Northmount Drive and Cornwallis Drive at 7:45 AM. and 2:30 PM. All parents and students are expected to use crosswalks at all times, when crossing any road.

Supervision Times

Teachers provide playground supervision 15 minutes before school starts at recess and 15 minutes prior to afternoon classes. See more on our Security page.
