Dear CJP Families,
We hope families are successfully settling into school routines and finding their rhythm as we move towards the end of September. Here at the school students have comfortably settled into classroom routines and have become focused on the learning tasks at hand. We made it through picture day and the new playground is getting closer and closer to completion. A very big THANK YOU to all of the volunteers that were out last
week putting the playground together. The volunteer build portion of the project was completed on Friday evening and later this
week the surfacing installation will happen. Focus in the school this
week is shifting to our upcoming Terry Fox Run and Truth & Reconciliation
Week.

CJP Family Picnic | Thursday, September 22nd @ 5:00 – 7:00 pmWe are extremely excited to welcome you to our CJP Family Picnic on the evening of Sept. 22nd, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. We are expecting five food trucks from the YYC Food Trucks fleet, the weather seems to be holding, and this will be a great opportunity to become (re)acquainted with your student’s classroom teacher. We do plan to have classrooms open between 5:45 and 6:15 pm to allow students an opportunity to show families their classroom. We’re hopeful you can make it!
*A gentle reminder these are still early days… the purpose of this event is to connect with your student’s teacher, but not yet to discuss student achievement.

Terry Fox Run | Tuesday, September 27th
On the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 27th CJP students will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run. We are excited to announce that CJP students will be returning to a community run for this special event and CJP students will complete the run together in one of two groups. There will be two separate start times for the groups, the first from 9:30 – 10:00 am, and the second from 1:30 - 2:00 pm. Please refer to your student’s Google Classroom to determine when they are scheduled to run. Parents are welcome to join students here at the school during their scheduled run time. A Toonie for Terry is always encouraged if you are able.
School/Home Communication Folder
Each CJP student will be bringing home a purple School/Home communication folder by the end of the day Tuesday, September 20th. We would appreciate if you could please take some time to read the action sheet on the top of the forms package enclosed in the folder. Please note - there are paper forms to fill out and return to the school.
Online Forms to Complete
*For those that have yet to compete the electronic demographic verification / annual authorization forms, we ask that you please do so before the end of September.
The CBE sent a School Messenger email to all CBE families to let them know about most of the yearly start of the year forms moving to an online format through your
MyCBE PowerSchool account. These include the Demographic Verification form that helps ensure we are able to contact you in the case of an emergency, and the annual authorization forms that pertain to photos of students around the school. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete these forms in the coming days to ensure we have this important information.
If you require any assistance with making your
MyCBE account, please visit this website
