It has been a wonderful time leading up to Fall Break. It has been filled with exciting learning opportunities for students. The grade 5 students just returned from 4 days at Camp Chief Hector's Eco school in Kananaskis Country. They had a wonderful time. Thanks to Ms. Robb, Mr. Trechka, Ms. Gloge, and Mr. Huppie for arranging the activity and for supervising students. Also thanks to the staff of Camp Chief Hector for providing such an amazing opportunity for students.
This week, we would also like to welcome Ms. Dvorkin and Ms. Lewis into grade 2.
We would like to thank our families for being such amazing supporters of Catherine Nichols Gunn School. We appreciate your support, and everything you do for kids in our community. In the last couple of weeks we've had a return to winter like weather. The forecast also suggests we could return to cooler weather the week of October 7th. As weathr in Calgary can be unpredictable we thank families for taking the time to ensure that students arrive at school prepared for any weather outcome.
Every School day, Mrs. MacDonald ensures that if students should need it, there is a breakfast for them. The Breakfast Program begins every school day at 8am. If your child is attending the breakfast program we ask that they arrive at school no earlier than 8am, as there may not be supervision for them.
Morning supervision outside begins at 8:15am on school days. Unless your child is attending the breakfast program at 8am, we ask that you not send your child to school until there is supervision outside at 8:15am.
If your child goes home for lunch, teacher supervison resumes at 12:35pm with an afternoon start for classes at 12:50pm. Please plan for your child to be at school for 12:35pm so that we know supervision is in place.
Warm Regards,
Colin McCracken
