Welcome Back

“Life is uncharted territory. It reveals its story one moment at a time”. Author: Leo Buscaglia

As we head into a new year, we would like to thank students, staff, and parents for contributing to the Cecil Swanson School community.  We are all so proud to be part of this amazing community.   It is apparent that the work we have done to make this happen successfully has had a positive impact on all of our students. We are really looking forward to the fantastic work that is yet to come.

Our Learning Conferences will be taking place the following dates and times: January 28, 3:30- 7:30 pm & January 29th 8:00-12:00 pm (No school for students on the 29). This is an excellent way to reinforce the connection between home and school. The conferences will be done by Microsoft Teams. When booking your time on MyCBE/PowerSchool you will be emailed a meeting link. Please keep this email as you will use the link to meet with the teacher.  The booking system will be open on January 21st at 10:00am.

In person school starts again on Monday, January 11th and we are so excited to see all of the students.

If you have travelled outside of Canada, you are legally required to follow  all provincial and federal travel restrictions upon arrival. If your family is participating in the International Border Testing Pilot Program, your child may not return to school until they have tested negative on a second test 6 or 7 days after your arrival.

Kindgertan registration for next year begins on January 11.  If you have a child that was born in 2016, they can be registered for Kindergarten. Please visit the CBE kindergarten website for more information. https://cbe.ab.ca/programs/kindergarten/Pages/default.aspx.

Our next School Council is Tuesday, January 12 at 6:30pm. If you would like to attend this virtual meeting, please send an email to adtopp@cbe.ab.ca and we will send you the link.

Sincerely

Mr. Adam Topp, Principal

RT @SASCBE: Our Grade 3/4s had a hands on experience building birds houses after learning about the importance of birds in Calgary. Birds are often seen as spiritual messengers who bridge the natural and spirit world in Indigenous cultures. @DClovis https://t.co/7DoX3d45Ca

RT @CJMCBE: Our Grade 5 students explored Weaselhead Flats today. We learned so much about wetlands, plants, and animals. We studied aquatic invertebrates and saw so many different birds. Thank you to our guide and to our parent volunteers 😃 #WeAreCBE https://t.co/H26VYcj1EY
