| Everday we are so proud and impressed with the resilency and flexibility of your children. We
have outstanding students at Cecil Swanson and we know that their resilency and flexibility
is the direct reflection of your positivity and encouragement that you provide them. Our entire
Cecil Swanson Staff thanks all the parents and caregivers that support our incredible
students.
The March Learning Conference is an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher
and discuss his/her progress and achievement in relation to the learner outcomes from the
Programs of Study. These Learning Conferences are focused on evidence of individual
student learning (examples of student work, student reflections, etc). You must have a
MyCBE / PowerSchool account to book a conference. The MyCBE booking system will open up on March
4 , 2021 at 10:00 am. Please use this system to book an Microsoft Teams meeting with
your child’s teacher. We will be sending out additional instructions close to the interview
times. If you need help with booking a conference or setting up a MyCBE account, please
contact our office or call the Parent Helpline at 403-817-6373. If your child comes home and says to you that they do not have any home work, would you
please ask them to show you their agenda. Some of our students do complete their
assignments at school and some students need some extra time to finish at home. Our
teachers also send out a weekly email which outlines how you can help at home. The
weekly email also outlines some “Ask Me About” topics. These topics provide you with
information about what your child is currently learning. In addition, all students should be
reading everynight and our School Council has purchase Raz-Kids and Mathletics, which are online programs to help reforce concepts taught at home. On behalf of Cecil Swanson staff we want to thank you for your continued support in helping
your child, “Be the Best You Can Be” and we look forward to seeing you at our next School
Council Meeting, Tuesday March 2 at 6:30 pm. Sincerely, Mr. Adam Topp, Principal
Ms Joan Murtagh, Assistant Principal
