Thanks for Contributing to the Cecil Swanson School Community

“We all get the exact same 365 days. They only difference is what we do with them.” Hillary DePiano

As we head into a new year, we would like to thank students, staff, and parents for contributing to the Cecil Swanson School community.  We are all so proud to be part of this amazing community.   It is apparent that the work we have done to make this happen successfully has had a positive impact on all of our students. We are really looking forward to the fantastic work that is yet to come.

Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year begins January 17.  Children must be at least five years old as of December 31 to start kindergarten in the fall of that kindergarten year. This means that a four-year old child may start kindergarten if they will turn five on or before December 31st of that school year. Please visit the CBE website on instructions on how to register your kindergarten student.  https://cbe.ab.ca/programs/kindergarten/Pages/default.aspx.

If you have friends or family that have children who are eligible for kindergarten please remind them to register.

Our next School Council is Tuesday, January 11 at 6:30pm. If you would like to attend this virtual meeting, please send an email to adtopp@cbe.ab.ca and we will send you the link.

Please remember to send your child to school with a mask. We have a limited supply in the office that we like to keep for emergencies only.

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Freek’s appointment to Acting Assistant Principal while Ms. Murtagh is away from the school. Ms. Freek brings an abundance of experience to this position and has been a staple to the Cecil Swanson community for 9 years.

Sincerely,

Mr. Adam Topp, Principal
Ms. Terra Freek, Acting Assistant Principal
