Believe You Can and You’re Halfway There

Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” Theodore Roosevelt

Everyday we are so proud and impressed with the resiliency and flexibility of your children. Our entire Cecil Swanson staff thanks all the parents and caregivers that support our incredible students.

The virtual March Learning Conference is an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher and discuss his/her progress and achievement in relation to the learner outcomes from the Programs of Study. These virtual Learning Conferences are focused on evidence of individual student learning (examples of student work, student reflections, etc.). You must have a MyCBE account to book a virtual conference. The MyCBE booking system will open up on March 3rd, 2022 at 8:00 am. Please use this system to book a Microsoft Teams meeting with your child’s teacher. We will be sending out additional instructions closer to the interview times.

We are so pleased to announce that our Jeff Stockton Residency has been a tremendous success. Jeff has been working will all the classes since the beginning of January and we are getting ready to celebrate our oral stories with you. The students will be recording their stories and posting them on their CBE Iris accounts. We will be sending instructions to parents so they will be able to view their child’s story at home. We would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to our School Council for paying for this amazing residency.

If your child comes home and says to you that they do not have any homework, would you please ask them to show you their agenda. Some of our students do complete their assignments at school and some students need some extra time to finish at home. Our teachers also send out a weekly email which outlines how you can help at home.

On behalf of Cecil Swanson staff, we want to thank you for your continued support in helping your child, “Be the Best You Can Be” and we look forward to seeing you at our next virtual School Council Meeting, Tuesday March 1 at 6:30 pm.

Sincerely,

Mr. Adam Topp, Principal
Ms. Joan Murtagh, Assistant Principal
