Halloween Costumes - A reminder to review the following regarding costumes:

  • No Halloween masks- students please continue to wear masks as per Covid protocols.
  • No weapons of any kind – guns, swords, etc.
  • Costumes that are offensive
    • Inappropriate slogans, symbols etc.
    • Unsuitable Clothing – please follow the dress code.

 

Speech and Debate Club meeting will be on Wednesday, October 28 at lunch in the Learning Commons.

 

Debate Club meeting will be on Tuesday, October 27 morning at 7:30am in the Learning Commons.

 

Clothing Drive:   We are looking for high school-aged clothing in particular (no kids clothing please). Clothing should be washed and brought to the school in a tied plastic bag – like a garbage bag. There will be a drop-off box located at the main office of both Central Memorial and the CTC until October 29.

 

Grad Committee – If you are interested in being on the Grad Committee, please join us Monday, October 22 at lunch in the Resource room (room 112).  Come join us and have a say in what your grad will look like.

 

Grad photos will be starting on November 24.  The booking site is live now through Lifetouch. We have pamphlets available in the main office for more information.

We are looking for a few Cadets who are interested in participating in this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony.  Please contact Ms.Shaffer (you can find her in Resource or her office at the far east of the Learning Commons) as soon as possible.

 

Veterans Food Drive – collection box is located inside the main office.  We have a list of the urgently needed items posted around the school if you are able to help out with donations.  This initiative is being organized by CSSI and TASC classes.

 

Yearbooks from last school year are in and are being handed out in the main office.  We do have a few extras that can be purchased for $40.

 

Alex Bus is coming back!!! Students wishing to book an appointment must come down to Guidance and see Ms. Day.  Students are not permitted to go out to the bus and walk on.  You will be called down from your classes when it is your appointment time.  For more information about the bus visit https://www.thealex.ca/youth-health-bus/.

 

Parking passes – you must have a valid parking pass in your vehicle in the school parking lots. The parking lots are monitored, and tickets will be issued. Please ensure that you have purchased a yearly pass, which is available through your PowerSchool fee module.
