Activity Day - Wednesday

Wednesday is our annual Activity Day. The events will be taking place in the AM on this day. Both Kindergarten groups, AM & PM, will be attending in the AM on Wednesday. There will be no school in the PM for Kindergarten only.

Clothing & Footwear

Comfortable clothing, dressing in layers, and proper footwear to be active in, sandals are not recommended
Sunscreen
Please put this on at home, teachers are not able to apply sunscreen at school
Water Bottles
Pighly recommended to bring a full water bottle with student’s name labeled on it
Healthy Breakfast
Start the day off right with a well-balanced breakfast to give us energy through the day
Positive Attitude- Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)
This is our theme for the day- to make the best of every situation and to lead with positive intentions
Being patient, grateful and respectful while working through various stations and activities with students in all grades

Lost and Found

Please encourage your child/(ren) to look at the lost and found for any lost items. We have significant lost and found items. After our Sports Day on Wednesday, all items will be bagged up and donated if we are not able to find their owners and they are not claimed.

Volunteer Thank You & Request for Help

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who support the school in so many ways!

We would like to send out a HUGE thank you to our Grade 6 Parent Celebration Team for the amazing decorating and celebratory gift bags for our Grade 6 students.

Thank you also to Sarah Bain and Erin Lloyd for the fantastic work on some of our storage areas and help in getting our school ready for summer.

Thank you to the 30+ volunteers who have signed up to help with Activity Day. We can’t do these events without you.

With the school year end rapidly approaching, we would like to do some more housekeeping tasks – sorting/organizing. If this is something you think you would enjoy doing, please reach out to the office to arrange time and task!

From the Office – Outstanding Fees

As the academic year draws to a close, we would ask parents to check your fees posted in your MyCBE account. All accounts must be cleared prior to the end of the school year. The office closes over the summer and will not be available to assist with any questions on your account. Updates on your accounts will be emailed between June 9 – 16. Any questions need to be referred to the office by June 23. Please email Mrs. Ewart is you have any questions eoewart@cbe.ab.ca

If you require a waiver application for Central fees (ie Lunch Supervision and Busing), this needs to be submitted to Student fees no later than June 30. Applications will not be considered after this date for the 2022-2023 academic year. Fee Waivers are handled by centrally by Student Fees and not by the school. We are not able to adjust fees at the school level.

Waiver considerations, for school planned field trips from this year, were due to the office by June 9, 2023 to the school. Please email Mrs. Robinson agrobinson@cbe.ab.ca if you require support for any field trip fees on your account.

The CBE will start sending overdue accounts to Collections in August.

From our School Council

Casino Fundraiser

This weekend is our Casino Fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who signed up and came out to support our school and our students with this very important fundraiser. It is the largest fundraiser we do at the school. Hopefully we will have another one in approximately 1.5 years.

Open School Council Positions

We are looking for a few School Council Executive positions including Co-Chairperson (we already have 1 in place), Casino Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator(s) and Fundraising Coordinator(s). School Council meets one Thursday evening/month during the school year for a total of 9 out of the 10 months.
