New Principal

Hello,

My name is Kristi Jardine. I am honoured to be the new Principal at Children's Village School. I am very excited to be working with you and your children.

I wanted to take just a moment to say thank you to everyone for helping to get the year off to a great start. I know this has been very difficult for everyone and we all appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate through such tricky times.

Yours truly,

Kristi Jardine

A message to our CVS community:

We know that over the past few days, a number of unprecedented measures implemented by our provincial and federal governments to reduce the spread of COVID-19 have impacted us all. Many are experiencing heightened feelings of concern and uncertainty as we wait to see what the future will bring, and hope for the speedy end to this pandemic.

At CVS the safety and security of our staff, students and families are of utmost importance to us. To that end, this week we are all doing our part to ensure that our school building and learning materials are properly cleaned and sanitized, so that this will continue to be a safe and healthy place for your students to come when classes resume. We are also practicing social distancing by allowing staff to work from home wherever possible. We thank you for your support and cooperation in this.

Staff at CVS are working with Alberta Education and the Calgary Board of Education to develop plans that will allow us to continue to serve our students and parent community after spring break. Please know that we will continue to be here for you. Shortly after we return to work on April 6th, team members will connect with you to check in and to share information about how we will provide ongoing academic and social emotional learning opportunities for your child. Please feel free to contact your child’s classroom team by email after April 6th, whether for academic support, regulation tools and strategies, access to psychological supports for students, information about community supports and resources, or to share important updates.

In the meantime, over the next two weeks, be safe and take good care.

Welcome to Children's Village School

We have a vibrant school community which constantly strives to ensure every individual feels safe, accepted, valued and successful. We are privileged and excited to take on our new roles working alongside the amazing team of professionals from CBE and our new partner organization – Hull Services. As a school, our collective goal is to foster an environment where students are provided opportunities and supports to help them reach their greatest potential. Every staff member is committed to student success, and draws upon a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion in support of student learning.

Every student at Children’s Village is unique and gifted, and demonstrates the capacity to learn, grow, and be a positive leader. The teaching and therapeutic team members at Children’s Village take time to genuinely get to know each and every student, and to build positive relationships that inspire trust and a willingness to take risks within the learning environment. We are committed to supporting the healthy development of the whole child; programming focuses simultaneously on academic, physical, social, emotional, and behavioural growth. Teachers develop meaningful and engaging learning opportunities that capitalize on existing strengths and interests, and are personalized to meet each student’s individual learning needs.

At Children’s Village School, the education of our students is a collaborative effort – a partnership between all stakeholders. We believe that input and engagement from all stakeholders is essential to the success of the school and of every individual student. Our parents, guardians, and caregivers are all valued members of our community. We invite you to actively participate and communicate regularly and openly with school staff.

Please feel free to stop by the office or give either of us a call if we can assist you in any way. We look forward to working together with you, to support your child’s learning.
