Great Pumpkin Contest

Update:

Thank you to everyone that participated in the Great Pumpkin Carving contest and came to see our array of costumes during our Halloween Parade.  In keeping with our mission of making a difference, this is a gentle reminder that we’re trying to raise funds to donate a “School-In-A-Box” through Unicef.  When crisis strips a community of its education resources, a School-in-a-Box with supplies to teach children equips teachers to turn a tent or the shade of a tree into a classroom.

Fundraising will take place until this Friday, Nov. 8th.  Please help us reach our goal!

We are looking forward to having some Halloween fun at Chinook Park School again this year. In keeping with tradition, we are hoping to see lots of our students come to school dressed up in their Halloween costumes on Thursday, October 31. Just a reminder to all participants to please leave any weapons or gory accessories that may go with your costume at home.

Our Student Voice Council Representatives also want to invite our Chinook Park families to participate in the Chinook Park Great Pumpkin Contest. Students are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity. We will be displaying the
pumpkins outside the gym for all our students to enjoy. Judging will be done by our Student Voice Council Representatives. Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:

1) Scariest
2) Funniest
3) Most Original/Creative

Judging will be based on:

Scariest  FunniestMost Original/Creative
-scary special effects
-scary details
-evoke a laughing or
humourous reaction
-very detailed using
multiple carving tools
-unique idea

Bring your creative pumpkin on the morning of Thursday, October 31 along with the completed form (sent via School Messenger).  We ask that pumpkins be picked up at the end of the day on October 31st. We will discard any pumpkins that have not been claimed. Parents are welcome to attend the parade (12:45) and are kindly requested to remain in the main hallway.

Happy Pumpkin Carving!
