Learning Commons Revitalization at Chinook Park School

Feb. 2019

The revitalization is well on its way.  Please welcome our new Library Assistant, Angeline Higgins.  She has been busy working on organising and rearranging existing furniture to create a warm, inviting space for all.  Angeline is also happy to rewelcome those who have volunteered in the past.  Please contact her if you wish to commence volunteering again through email aahiggins@cbe.ab.ca. We will be reviewing the proposed floor plan at the next School Council meeting on Feb 27 at 6:30 PM.  Please join us to provide feedback.

Learning Commons Night – Nov. 8 (5:30-7:00 pm)

Families are invited to come and tackle a design challenge!  Students and their parents will be working, in the library, using a variety of media to build a prototype or solve a challenge.  The goal of this night is for parents and children to provide input on what the future Learning Commons could look like.  To ensure there are enough supplies, we are asking families to RSVP to dmpoole@cbe.ab.ca.  See you Thursday night!

We are looking to revitalize our library space and move to a Learning Commons model. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please contact Mme Avdicos.  Last year parents and staff provided input into what the space should look like.  This year students will also provide their feedback!  We will also be working with a company to help us design the space based on all stakeholders input.
