Hello Chris Akkerman Families,
As this school year comes to a close, we just want to take a moment and thank you for a fantastic year. While we definitely faced challenges, it was an amazing year of learning, making connections and being part of a community. Your support for us and for your children means the world to us.
If you've been to the school in the past week, you've likely seen our amazing new garden by our main doors. Thank you so much to Ms. Hoechstetter, Ms. Swann and Ms. McEachern for their hard work to make our school even more amazing. And thank you to our school council for their support as well. As we think about next year, there are still many questions. We are planning on going into the school year with the same protocols and practices as this year and will wait to learn more about the return to school in August. We will definitely communicate via email any important information you need.
For next year our school hours remain the same:
Monday - Thursday: 7:50 am - 2:35 pm
Friday: 7:50 am - 11:35 am
The first day of school is Wednesday, September 1. There will be a staggered entry for Kindergarten and those families will receive more information regarding that schedule.
On the first day, students and families will be greeted by Chris Akkerman staff when they arrive and directed to the appropriate grade door. Classroom teachers will be at the doors to meet the families and invite the students inside.
We wish all of you a wonderful, safe and relaxing summer. To our Grade 5 students, good luck in middle school! You will be missed. We are excited to welcome everyone else back in September.
