June Message

Dear Chris Akkerman Families,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce that I am leaving Chris Akkerman School as I have accepted a position as the Principal of Tom Baines School beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. It has been a fantastic three years serving the students, families, and staff at Chris Akkerman. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to develop strong working relationships with all of you. I am so proud of how resilient we have been these past few years.

Families, thank you for your support and collaboration. It has been so great to see many of you back in the school to volunteer and be part of our community. Your support for us and your children is so appreciated. I will miss this learning community.

I am very appreciative of all of our Chris Akkerman students that I have gotten to know, teach and lead. I am excited to see them every day as well as their enthusiasm for learning. They will be missed.

A new Principal will be appointed to the school, hopefully by the end of the month.

Thank you again for everything. I wish each of you a restful and enjoyable summer.

Derek Siakaluk, Principal
