Preliminary Re-entry Information | Staggered Entry Next Week

We hope that Clarence Sansom families have been keeping safe and well over the summer, and have had an opportunity to find some peace and relaxation.

We understand that parents are anxious to know as many details as possible regarding the plans for re-opening the school next week.  A detailed description will be sent and posted on August 28.  In its essence, it follows the Phase One Guidance for School re-entry published by the Government of Alberta - https://www.alberta.ca/k-to-12-school-re-entry-2020-21-school-year.aspx with some 'Sansom specific' instructions.

This message is primarily to inform parents that we will be following a staggered entry format next week for students returning to school, in order to ensure students know how to safely access the school, and learn what their school days will be like for the coming weeks and months.  The goal is reduction of risk and enhancement of safety through commonly understood practices and behaviours.  If you have signed up for The Hub Online Learning these staggered entry dates do not apply to you.

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Sept. 1 – Grade 7 students ONLY from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 2 – Grade 8 students ONLY from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 3 – Grade 9 students ONLY from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 4 – ALL students from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

It's important that students only attend school on their designated days next week.  ALL staff and students are required to wear masks to enter the school.

Please stay tuned for the detailed plan coming August 28.  Thank you for your patience.

"Every Albertan has a role to play in keeping their friends, family, and neighbours safe. Diligently following the health measures in place means you are being considerate and caring, not over cautious or afraid. Let's all see it as our personal responsibility to follow the health measures and keep people safe."

- Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Chief Medical Officer of Health, Alberta Health Services
