This past week our grade 6's and 9's wrote their ELA Part A Provincial Exams. For the most part, things went well. There were some province-wide issues with spell check functionality and CBE-wide printing issues for the Grade 9 PAT, these were sorted out for the Grade 6 PAT and teachers have been today aligning assessment practices and marking them.
We were spoiled today by parents who brought in treats for staff. Thank you to Parent Council for organizing it and to all the generous parents/guardians who brought in snacks. There was so much we have set aside some of it for upcoming Fridays.
Next week all students will be completing the OURSchool survey. This survey provides all our students with an opportunity to provide us feedback. These surveys provide us important information that will inform our planning next year. Grade 5's will give feedback on sense of belonging, positive relationships, anxiety and feeling safe at school. The Grade 6-9 survey covers all of the above, as well as depression, self-esteem, life satisfaction, general health, orientation to well-being, self-regulation and cultural awareness. Students will write the survey on the 26th and 27th during PE class time.
We are also excited to confirm times for the Band Concert on June 2nd. Grade 5 & 6 Music students will be performing for their parents/guardians at 6pm for approximately an hour. The Grade 7-9 Band students will perform from 7:30pm-9pm.
We also wanted to share preliminary information about the last two days of school. Monday, June 27th with be the Grade 9 Farewell, we will have two sittings as we cannot accommodate all parents and students in the gym at once. Tuesday, June 28th will be our Awards ceremony and end of year BBQ. As always, we will share more as we plan more.
Have a great long weekend.
Ms. Ko & Ms. Dalwood

Service levels for the 2022-23 school year will remain the same and we plan to resume charging fees at the same rates as this school year (prior to the refund).
If families are considering transportation services for the next school year, they must register by the deadline to ensure yellow school bus service for the first day of classes. There is no financial obligation for registration; families have until the fall to cancel without a fee.
