Good Afternoon Colonel Irvine School Community.
We would like to thank all of you who joined us for Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews this week. It was nice to connect with familiar faces and meet new ones. We look forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year. If you were not able to connect with the teachers and would still like to, please reach by email to the teachers. We would also like to thank those that joined us for the drop-in high school information sessions. If you were unable to join, we will be sending out a summary of the information we shared, as well as answers to frequently asked questions. Grade 9 parents can expect this at some point next week.
With a Covid vaccine now being available, for the 5-12 year-old students, we are going to confirm that we will be returning to regular instrument play in the music classes following the holidays. This will hopefully provide enough time for those students that choose to get vaccinated to get their first (and hopefully second) vaccines ahead of the return to school on Tuesday, Jan 4th.
It is hard to believe that we are three weeks away from the Winter Break. As in previous Decembers, we will be participating in the annual Mayors Food Drive. We will collect non-perishable food donations between December 6th and December 17th and appreciate anything you can give. If you are in need an emergency hamper please visit https://www.calgaryfoodbank.com/needfood/
We are also excited to share that between the run, bubble tea and freezie sales, we have raised over $2200 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Thank you for your continued support,
Ms. Ko and Ms. Dalwood
