| Good Afternoon Colonel Irvine School Community. As we enter the last week of school before the winter break, a spirit week has been planned for our students. The themed ideas came from students. Each day will have a special theme starting with red and green day on Monday and ending with Pajama Day on Friday. More details are provided below. We encourage all our students to get involved with our spirit week, have some fun, and come together to build school spirit and community. We encourage all students to work hard this coming week to get all of their school work completed as we want students (and parents) to enjoy a mostly care-free winter break. As always, please reach out to your teachers/administration if you have any questions or concerns. Our first day back after the break is Tuesday, January 4th. If you are planning international travel over the Winter Break, students under 12 years of age MUST stay away from school for 14 calendar days from the return date of entry into Canada. Please note that travel restrictions are subject to change at any time. For all CBE travel related information please visit the CBE website. We would also like to inform you that after the break, students will be receiving new timetables. Their courses and teachers will remain the same, however, the location of some classrooms may be different. We are doing this move at a natural break in the year and expect the move to benefit student learning. A reminder that we are collecting food for the annual Mayors Food Drive. We will collect non-perishable food donations starting on Monday and going until December 17th and appreciate anything you can donate. If you are in need of an emergency hamper please visit https://www.calgaryfoodbank.com/needfood/ A reminder that more high school information continues to become available. Please see headings below. Students designated to Fowler and Diefenbaker will be going on tours at those schools on January 27th. If any student is designated to another school but interested in IB at Diefenbaker we can also take them on the Diefenbaker tour. Please email Nicole Dalwood (nadalwood@shaw.ca) to express interest in having your student attend the Dief tour for the IB programming. Lastly, we’d want to extend special thanks to our parents for providing us with a delicious lunch today. It was very much appreciated by all staff members. Thank you for your continued support.
