The Week Ahead - The Week Ahead 27

Good afternoon Colonel Irvine School Community,

This past week we had a variety of activities for our students. Tuesday, all students participated in a variety of events related to National Indigenous Peoples Day. The activities focused on Truth and Reconciliation and included storytelling and land-based learning. Unfortunately, due to the poor weather on Thursday, our grade 7's did not have a chance to go Highwood Pool. The weather did not impact the grade 9's time at the Rec Room. They had a blast, it had been their choice for an end of year trip as part of their Farewell celebrations. The gym was decorated last night for the Farewell ceremony. The students picked the theme “Under the Stars" and we are excited for them to see it. We look forward to hosting the Grade 9 students and their parents/guardians on Monday morning.

We will wrap up the last day of school with our award assemblies and the distribution of yearbooks paired with activities with homeroom teachers.

While the last day of school for students is Tuesday, June 28th. The school will remain open until Thursday, June 30th. During this time, we are tidying and moving classrooms, and preparing for the start-up in September. Wednesday, June 29th from 9am – noon is designated for appeals.  If you have questions or concerns about the final report card, please contact the teacher via email and they will coordinate a time to call parents/guardian back.

Thank you for your continued support.

Ms. Ko and Ms. Dalwood

School Council Acknowledgements

We would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to our School Council. Thank you to all the parents/guardians who joined School Council meetings throughout the year. Your input and efforts help us build a better school community. We are so fortunate to have such supportive parents. We would like to also thank parent council and the other parents for their generosity towards our staff lunch next Wednesday. We are looking forward to this time together over a meal. A huge shout out to the School Council Executive Member team, listed below. Apologies if we have left anyone out as we know so many of our parents have supported us behind the scenes. If you are interested in getting involved next year, please attend the first School Council in the Fall. This will occur Tuesday, September 20th. More details to follow in September.
