Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,
We'd like to thank everyone who attended our Lunar New Year celebration last night. It was the first time since 2020 that we had our last in-person celebration. We had over 700 guests celebrating with us. Kudos to all our student performers and teachers for putting on an amazing show. Sunday, January 22 will mark the New Year of the Rabbit. May the Year of the Rabbit be filled with success, good health, happiness and many cherished moments with your family and friends.
Today we blended in a lunar new year activity for each grade with our wellness lesson on anti-bullying. Students were asked to reflect on the role of an upstander versus a bystander in their journals. Please ask your student about this. We will also be promoting and supporting Pink Shirt day on February 22 as part of our ongoing efforts to increase student awareness around bullying and bullying prevention.
Permission forms for high school tours were sent home for grade 9 students today. The link for high school transfers will be operational on the CBE website on February 1st. We will be supporting students through their course selections for grade 10. More information to come.
As always, thank you for your continued support. Together we can make a difference in keeping each other and our learning environment safe.
Ms. Ko & Ms. Dalwood

**Central Memorial High School**
Central Memorial High School hosts a thriving performing and visual arts program (PVA) that is open to CBE students across the city. Because it is a program of choice, students who are not designated to CMHS have the unique opportunity to apply and audition/interview for the program and then complete the CBE High School Transfer Request for 2023-2024.
In this program, students have opportunities to complete 30+ high school fine arts credits through year-round specialized classes alongside like-minded students and faculty with artistic backgrounds. Not only can they focus on their arts learning every single day of high school, but they can also complete core classes, AP classes, languages and CTS courses here at Central Memorial.
