Lunchtime

The CJFS lunch program runs from 11:30 AM to 12:20 PM Monday to Thursday.

Students must be on their best behavior during the lunch hour and consistently following the three pillars of care. It is expected that all lunch students will bring their own healthy bag lunch. As well, we ask that if a student needs a hot lunch, parents provide it in an insulated thermos instead of delivering lunch to the school. The learning of all students is our prime focus and this causes disruption to the learning, as well as the work of the front office staff.

Lunch Supervision

The Calgary Board of Education provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. Please visit our Lunch Supervision page for more information.

Only students registered in the lunch program may stay for lunch. All other students eat their lunch at home and may return to the school at 12:15 PM.

Fun Lunches

Colonel J. Fred Scott School Council’s lunch days are held throughout the year. The program is completely optional and you are invited to participate in as many or as few of them as you wish.

Fun Lunches are also a fundraiser and all profits made stay at Colonel J. Fred Scott School to benefit our students. There are no forms to fill in and all orders are done online.  Simply go to www.healthyhunger.ca to register. You can pay with your credit or debit card. Once you sign up, you will receive email reminders  If you do not have internet access, you can  bring a paper copy to our school office and we will sign you up for the lunches.

Allergies

Please note that we are an allergy aware school, which means we endeavour to be allergy aware to the many foods to which students may be allergic. See more on our Illness & Medical page.
