Please visit our COVID-19 page for the most up-to-date information. Our plan is subject to change throughout the school year as more information becomes available.

One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

Information about the impact of COVID-19 on School Councils is available on the CBE website.

School Council

We are always looking for parents to help out and be a part of School Council.

Colonel Walker’s School Council and Parent Association are strong and active advisory bodies. They are integral to our school’s operation and the success we achieve. Each of these groups work in a collaborative manner with the school administration and staff to significantly enhance the learning opportunities we provide for students. Both bodies also provide opportunities for parents to learn more about the school, support school initiatives, and to provide input into our school’s programs.

Meeting Dates/Schedule

School Council meets the third or fourth Tuesday of each month in the school staff room from 6:00 – 7:30 PM. The Parent Society meeting follows from 7:30-8 PM. We will provide babysitting at all of our meetings this year.

Minutes of the School Council meetings are posted on the parent bulletin board outside of the main office.

Please see the calendar for dates and times.
