We follow the CBE traditional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.​

The Calgary Board of Education continues to plan for the health measures that may be in place for the next school year. More details will be shared with families before the first day of classes.

First Day of Classes

On Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, we welcome our students to the 2021-22 school year at Colonel Walker School. In this handout, you will find the answers too many of your back to school questions.

School Start & End Times

Our bell times are:

Outdoor Supervision 8:25 – 8:35 am; Entry Bell – 8:35 am; Classes start at 8:40 am

Morning 8:40 AM-12:12 PM   (recess break 10:46-11:00 AM)
Lunch/Recess 12:12-1:00 PM (warning bell at 12:57)
Afternoon-1:00 PM-3:20 PM
Early Dismissal at 12:30 every Friday

Student Supplies are bulk ordered and students are not required to bring supplies of their own.

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​​​Do You Have a MyCBE Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and lunch supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​
