Time flies and it is hard to believe it is the first week in June. As usual, June is a busy month as we wrap up one school year and prepare for another. Ongoing learning continues with work in literacy and math for our students. Teachers and students are still engaging in our Google Classroom and completing and sharing learning. Sadly, there will not be any opportunity to gather as a school community before the end of the year and we are saddened by the fact. This is the time we usually come together to celebrate our achievements over the year and say farewell to those that are leaving us.
Thank you to all the families who have come to pick up their child(ren)’s belongings. We still have many belongings that have not been picked up. As we prepare for summer cleaning and classroom moves we will be packing up student belongings for storage until September on Wednesday, June 10th. If you would like to pick up your child(ren’s) belongings parents can come and pick them up Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. There is no need to set up an appointment time, just come to the office doors and we will greet you. After this day, student belongings will be sent home in September with students. If the student is not returning to Coventry Hills School, we will forward to the new school.
Please visit our school website often as this is a critical way for us to communicate during these times. Messages from the school and from the Calgary Board Education are available. Thinking ahead to September, we have not yet had direction from the Province regarding re-opening protocols. Please be sure to participate in the CBE 2020-21 Re-entry Survey for Parents. Your voice is an important part of the decision-making process. The survey will be open until June 11th. This link is also available on the school website.
For our families who have borrowed technology, we will be sending a notification about the procedure for returning the technology back to school. The official date is June 25th and 26th. Mrs. Laythorpe will be contacting families regarding the procedure for the return.
