We follow the CBE traditional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.​

Back to School Information

First Day of Classes 

Our first day of classes Thursday, September 1, 2022 and the school office is open to parents on Monday,  August 29, 2022 at 8:30 AM.

Our Kindergarten classes will have staggered entry as follows:

Thursday, September 1 (Tuesday/Thursday group)
Student's last name starts with A-L: 9:05am-11:35am
Student's last name starts with M-Z:1:20pm-3:50pm

Friday, September 2 (Monday/Wednesday group)

Student's last name starts with A-L: 9:05am-10:35am
Student's last name starts with M-Z:11:50am-1:20pm


School Start and End Times

Our soft entry starts at 8:50 a.m.  Students are welcome to come after this time.  Please do not drop off your children prior to these times.

Our bell times are:

Monday - Thursday
Students in Grades K-5:
9:05 AM – 3:50 PM
Recess Flexible - timing decided by teacher
Lunch 
12:30 PM – 1:15 PM 
Friday:
Students in all grades (Kindergarten to Grade 5):
9:05 AM - 1:20 PM
Nutrition Break11:15 AM - 11:45 AM


School Supply Lists 

School supplies are ordered by the teachers and distributed to students throughout the school year.  Students are not required to purchase any school supplies.  Please provide your child with a pair of non-marking, comfortable indoor shoes suitable for physical education classes that will stay at school, a water bottle, as well as a sturdy, child friendly backpack that is big enough for library books.  Please mark all student belongings with their name.

Lunch Supervision

Dalhousie School offers a 5-day Noon Supervision program to all Grade K - 5 students as a user-pay service. All students staying for lunch must be registered. Parents can log into My CBE Account to register and pay for Lunch Supervision Fees or to apply for a waiver. Please visit our Lunch Supervision page for more details.

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​Do You Have a MyCBE Account? Have You Added Your Child(ren) To the Account?

Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent Students who have not already done so, must create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) to the account to:

  • access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessments, daily attendance record, report card)
  • view your child’s learning using Brightspace by D2L
  • pay fees and request waivers
  • register for transportation and lunch ​supervision
  • book parent-teacher conferences
  • submit online school forms (required for 2022-23 school year)

You will need your email address on file at the school as well as your child’s CBE ID, which can be found on the:

  • SchoolEngage student profile, for families that registered their child using SchoolEngage.

​​​​Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2022-23 school year are created o​ver the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
