​IT'S SURVEY TIME!

Parent Engagement Survey: On Tuesday March 1st, a Douglas Harkness parent engagement survey was sent out in our Friday message and a supporting powerpoint was posted in the engagement section of our school website. Please take a moment to review the powerpoint and complete the survey. Your feedback is important to us. Grade 4 Parent/Guardian Alberta Education Survey: This year’s survey will be available for parents/legal guardians February 23 to March 25, 2022. You should have received information from Alberta Education through Canada Post. Completing the survey online is the quickest way for Alberta Education to receive a completed response. This year has been different. Continuing to adapt to COVID-19 has meant new challenges. That is why it is more important than ever to hear from you. Your voice will help shape the future of education in Alberta. Please complete the survey by March 25, 2022. 

Alberta Health Service: Visit the AHS Community Education Service website to register for their free community programs. Topics include managing stress, bullying, peer-pressure, managing anxiety, grief and loss, brain science, addiction, birth control and sexuality, domestic violence, cyber security. You can also watch pre-recorded sessions at this link AHS recorded sessions link  Some of their upcoming events include: 

March 15: Taming Anxiety Gremlins Using the Anxiety Compass.

March 16: Managing Stress in the Family; Understanding Triggers.

March 17: Navigating Technology With Your Youth.

Our next school council meeting is on Tuesday March 8th at 6:00pm. Please look for the notice in your child’s backpack. We look forward to seeing you. A link will be emailed to you on Tuesday night prior to the meeting.​

Parent Teacher Conferences: Don’t forget to sign up for a 15 minute phone call meeting with your child’s teacher. Conference times fill up quickly and we can’t wait to celebrate your child’s learning and set goals for the remainder of the year with you. Log into Power School now to pick your phone conference time.

Traverse Wall: Did you know we have a Traverse Wall in our gym? Teachers are re-certified so we can now open the wall and students can learn how to climb! Have a look at our school Twitter for photos of the excitement!
