​One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school.​​ You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook​.​

September 2022 Update


Our School Council is comprised of parents, administration and staff who meet on the to work together to promote the effectiveness of our school. Your input, ideas and support are an important part of Council. Whether it is by attending meetings, serving on special committees, volunteering in any number of ways, or reading and responding to the minutes published in our newsletter, all input provides parents with an effective voice at Douglasdale School.

Meeting Dates and Schedule

Our next school council meeting is September 29th, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the school. We will send out detailed information closer to the date. All DDS parents and/or guardians are invited and encouraged to attend!
