Dear DGS Families:
We are about to cross the finish line on the first completely typical year of school we have all had since 2018-2019. As I look back on this year, I see so much growth and so many successes for our students. You all played a role in it- thanks without end.
Grade 6 and 9 students will write their final PAT tomorrow. Preliminary Results will come home with students on June 28. Please ask your student to give this important document to you.
All Start-Up Information for new and returning students will be sent via school messenger on June 30. It will be resent on August 15. Your child’s homeroom teacher will reach out to you via email on August 28, 2023.
Yearbooks will be handed out to students on Thursday June 29 in their homerooms. Students will have lots of opportunities to connect and share memories over the course of the day. If your family is leaving early for the summer, please let the main office know so that pick-up arrangements can be made.
We want to congratulate two of our teachers who are moving on to other Leadership opportunities within the CBE. Ms. Lindsey Hart has been appointed Learning Leader with the Indigenous Education Team and will be working out of Ernest Morrow School. Ms. Lorie Masur will be moving on to a Learning Leader position at Sir John Franklin School in the Arts Centred Learning Program. Mr. Adam Bailey will be joining us as our Learning Leader for Grade 8. We also want to welcome Mr. Tim Gordon, Ms. Jessilyn Shank, Mr. Theo Titopoulos and Ms. Erin Markusoff, who will all be joining our staff from other schools this Fall. A full listing of staff members will be available on our website on August 28.
